Chapter 1 Product Introduction
1.1 What Is AIClue
AIClue is a local file finding and organizing tool for Windows computers. It does not replace File Explorer. Instead, it helps you search, view, filter, and organize files that are scattered across your computer.
AIClue is suitable for situations such as:
- You have many folders and want to find a file quickly
- You remember a few words inside a document, but not the file name
- Materials for the same topic are scattered across multiple directories, and you want to view them by project
- Your computer contains duplicate files, and you want to review them before cleaning them up
- New files often accumulate in Downloads, Desktop, or temporary folders, and you want to organize them in one place
1.2 Main Features

1.3 Privacy and Safety
AIClue’s everyday file management capabilities are mainly local:
- Scan directories you add are not uploaded
- File records, search data, filter information, and workspace data are saved on your computer
- Search, preview, filtering, and project workspaces do not modify, move, or copy source files
- Account login, access synchronization, and automatic updates do not upload your original file content
- Before duplicate cleanup or moving files to organize, the app shows a clear prompt
AIClue may access the network for updates, account login, and access synchronization. Without logging in, the core file management and search capabilities can still be used locally.
1.4 Relationship with the System File Manager
AIClue complements your system file manager:
- Use File Explorer when you want to open, copy, move, or rename regular files
- Use AIClue when you want to search across directories, filter, preview, find duplicate files, or view materials by project
- Project workspaces in AIClue are file references only and do not change the original source file locations

Note: The current public release is for 64-bit Windows 10/11 computers. When you add many files for the first time, AIClue needs time to read file information and prepare search data. After that is complete, everyday search and browsing will be smoother.
