Data and controls
Local search does not mean the app never connects.
Scanning, text reading, regular search, and preview are mainly local. Account features, updates, and automatic activity reporting have separate network conditions. Uploading files, making network requests, and modifying originals are different questions.
Processing, network use, and control

Clearing records versus changing original files
