Windows file search tool
Search files on Windows with more than a filename.
AIClue does not replace File Explorer. It adds one finding surface for files spread across Documents, Desktop, and project folders: search filenames and locations, document content, or use Smart Search for all three.
A Windows file-finding flow
- 01 Scope Folders you explicitly add
- 02 Match Filename, content, or Smart Search
- 03 Decision Relevance, filters, snippets, and preview
Built for files spread across a PC
Bring several folders into one search view.
When material is split across Desktop, Downloads, project directories, and other fixed locations, add the folders you want AIClue to manage. Results show file information together and, when supported, matching content snippets.
- The current public release supports 64-bit Windows 10 and 11
- Only added folders not skipped by exclusion rules enter the managed scope
- Keyword results use relevance by default and can be narrowed or sorted
How it differs from filename-only lookup
Choose a search mode based on the clue you have.
Keep it direct when you remember the name. When only the text remains in memory, avoid opening folders and candidates one by one.
- Step 01
You remember the filename
Use Filename to search filenames and locations without searching file content.
- Step 02
You remember only the content
Use Content to search remembered words in files that support content reading.
- Step 03
Either clue may match
Use the recommended Smart Search to search filenames, locations, and content together.
Clear boundaries make results predictable
AIClue does
- Record regular file information in added directories
- Prepare searchable text for readable files
- Provide filters, snippets, and available previews for confirmation
AIClue does not
- Move, rename, or modify source files just because a folder is added
- Scan the entire computer without folders you choose
- Promise content reading or built-in preview for every file type
Add a search surface for Windows files
Start with the folder you search most often.
Keep the scope small at first. After processing finishes, search by filename or remembered content.
